driving. but he sped off through san leandro and oakland. the car spun out of control between 580 between harrison and park and police cars slammed into it to box the car in. officers say people were throwing things out on the roadway. they never found the objects but officers did find weapons inside the vehicle when it finally stopped. >> they pursued the vehicle in oakland where it crossed across the center median. the three occupants were taken into custody from there. >> reporter: police believe those three could be tied to a shooting in hayward early yesterday afternoon. a man was driving with his wife and child at tennyson and kalaroga when he was struck by a bullet and taken to the hospital. he's expected to survive. a hayward police officer tweeted around midnight that they had three suspects in custody in a high-speed chase that were involved in a san jose armed robbery and shooting. we've been in touch with police. they say the robbery unit is not expected to be until 8:00 this morning. as soon as we get confirmation on that, we'll

this was an inside job. >>> a new employee code of conduct continues today at port of oakland in the wake of a spending scandal that was uncovered in a recent ktvu investigation. among other things, we learned some port workers spent thousands of dollars of public money at a strip club. >> it's really a milestone and a commitment that we made to the public to respond of a we learned of serious challenges that we face and actions that have been conducted by senior leadership. >> the new policy approved yesterday, includes tough new limits on employee spending and travel. it also calls for mandatory ethics training for all port workers. >>> the giants' world series win helped san francisco reach a record for tourism spending. the san francisco travel association says more than 16 million visitors came to the city in 2012 and they spent a record $8.9 billion. >> it's a destination place so people really want to come here and say. they come earlier and stay the week and then the weekend after. >>> the america's cup and the bay bridge heights are expected

fees with oakland's municipal i.d. card. the city created these i.d. cards in part for undocument emergencied immigrants. a debit function was -- undocumented immigrants. a debit function was put in place. there's hidden fees. there are fees for enrolling and and another fee for every time it's used. >>> b.a.r.t. is dealing with a big bird problem. it's expected to cost the transit agency millions of dollars. brian flores is live in fremont to explain the problem. good morning, brian. >> reporter: good morning, tori. it certainly can be a very dirty problems at times. these pigeons are causing a lot of damage at most of the b.a.r.t. stations throughout the bay area. it's costing them millions of dollars. in fact, the agency says they spent up to $2 million to lay down spike strips sure birds don't land there. another million is being spent to deal with pigeons at five east basis stas. pigeons are a concern at two other stations. ironically, b.a.r.t. says the birds are adapting to the measures like the stripe strips. in fact, some say they

.s. delegation for the installation mass. >>> 7:03. new this morning a car fire nearly spread to the oakland raiders' team headquarters in alameda. firefighters arrived at the fire at harbor bay parkway just after 4:00 this morning. they found a car fully engulfed in flames in a parking lot in the back of the property which is behind the oakland airport. the building was not burned. firefighters are investigating whether this was arson. police will be looking also into whether the car was stolen or involved in some other crime. >>> this morning we're tracking the investigation into a deadly officer-involved shooting in unincorporated san jose. ktvu channel 2 reporter janine de la vega is live in san jose with what police are saying about gunfire that followed an overnight chase. good morning, janine. >> reporter: good morning, tori. sheriff's deputies just cleared the scene on jerilyn drive. they've been here for 12 hours investigating. we were just told by a neighbor. they say this is where the suspect in a stolen car was shot, where you see all of this
